The Crown has just aired its fourth season on Netflix, and we are sure like most of the world, you’ve devoured the entire season.
Here at Elizabeth Parker we can’t help but admire the men’s costume design, from Prince Charles’ double breasted suits and Prince Philips Balmoral country attire to Lord Mountbatten’s Breton striped top. Every detail has been well thought out and executed in a believable and easy to replicate manner.
Prince Phillip at Balmoral
Prince Philip heads out deer stalking with Diana in his full country attire – wax jacket and tweeds. The obvious choice to team with this look is our Mr Country collection, featuring pheasants, foxes and most fittingly the stag.
Prince Charles in Australia
Although we know from press shots that Prince Charles favours a gold set of cufflinks with a double C ( believed to symbolise both he and Camilla and worn as a nod to their relationship). We think he could accessorise his Black Tie looks.
The Picture above, is a shot from the scene that seemed to see Charles and Diana’s relationship turn a corner, where they are dressed in their finest black-tie outfits, dancing at a ball during their Australian Royal Tour. Charles does seemed to be missing something – dress studs, synonymous with Black tie - a set of dress studs allows the wearer to add a hint of personality and elevate a classic Tuxedo suit look.
Lord Mountbatten
This is the most casual outfit we see a male character wear during the series, but it’s one that seems very timeless and current. A classic Breton stripe top is fitting for Lord Mountbatten’s Royal Navy background. Although a little bit unconventional we think one of our Stainless Steel bracelets would look fantastic with this look, or the safe option would be the anchor lapel pin for truly nautical feel.
