University of Oxford on Screen.

Back in the Spring we brought you the Stay At Home Edits and our two most popular editions were the Oxford ones. This Winter as we spend a lot more time at home we thought we’d pull together some things to watch on TV that are linked to Oxford and some product suggestions to go along with them.

image: BBC  His Dark Materials is a fantasy         drama television series based on the novel   series of the same name by Philip   Pullman. Currently available to watch on a   Sunday evening at 8.10pm on BBC One. His   Dark Materials is set in a multi-world reality,   with the action moving from one world to
another. With regular scenes backdropped by snowy hills and beautiful dark skies our brand-new Official University of Oxford Tree Decorations have an air of His Dark Materials about them.

An Education available on Amazon Prime Video, follows Jenny is
a teenager whose life changes when she meets David, a man twice her age. He pursues her romantically, but she is in for a rude shock when she discovers that David isn't what he seems to be.
Jenny’s goal has always been to attend the University of Oxford, the city and its colleges feature in the film. Jenny a well read and studious young lady would have certainly loved our new official University of Oxford Solid Silver Bookmark.

https://www.the-tls.co.uk/articles/iris-murdoch-tls/ Iris featuring Dame Judy Dench and Kate Winslet   is a true story of the lifelong romance between   novelist Iris Murdoch and her husband John   Bayley, from their student days through her battle   with Alzheimer's disease. Her first novel Under   the Net was published in  1954 and was an   immediate success. Over the following 40 years   she won the James Tait Black   Memorial Prize,   the Whitbread Literary Award and   in 1978 the Booker McConnell Prize. ( available to  watch on Amazon Prime for a fee) Iris Murdoch read Greats at Somerville College at the University of Oxford, she would surely have loved to wear one of our Somerville Lapel Pin.

Tolkien featuring Nicholas Holt and Lilly Collins is based on the image: Wikipedia early life of English professor J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, as well as notable academic works. A famed University of Oxford student, Tolkien attended the Exeter College and formed a group of writers called The Inklings, that also included famed author CS Lewis. (Available to watch on Amazon Prime for a fee).

Our new official University of Oxford Pen Set would be an ideal gift for a budding author or academic at the university, not forgetting the Exeter College accessories.
