Iris featuring Dame Judy Dench and Kate Winslet is a true story of the lifelong romance between novelist Iris Murdoch and her husband John Bayley, from their student days through her battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her first novel Under the Net was published in 1954 and was an immediate success. Over the following 40 years she won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize, the Whitbread Literary Award and in 1978 the Booker McConnell Prize. early life of English professor J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, as well as notable academic works. A famed University of Oxford student, Tolkien attended the Exeter College and formed a group of writers called The Inklings, that also included famed author CS Lewis.
